Hey Jim Iam so sorry for your loss I can't believe I checked your blog today looked around & first one I read is the loss of your loved dog.
I know how it feels since I just lost my big baby boy to cancer he was only 8 yrs old, the thing is that we had no idea of it all happened in one miserable week ,he stopped eating I thought it was just some stress he had similar to a year earlier, but than his back legs weren't holding the poor thing we took him to the vet after long hours waiting on blood work to come back since the vet saw abnormality we were told he had leukemia my knees got week I just refused to believe it, two days later on heavy medication he wasn't able to sleep ,i trie to come him by sleeping next to him on the rug he was jumping up (with all the meds in him) We had to make that decision of taking him to his last car ride (I still can't believe it) He was put down to sleep in my arms whole 120 lbs crying over him I refused to leave.
I have him in a box (ashes) next to my bed with a new rescued little dog which I named after him Slim couldn't call any other names.
This all happened in August it was the 23rd.
I don't mean to go on & on but I wanted to share this with you since you had gone through the same thing.

Sorry for your loss Jim. It will heal with time.

And thank you for your commitment to continue to move forward. It is a lesson that is hard to teach but everyone needs to learn. The only thing we can be sure of in this world is change.

I'd like to encourage you to keep writing. It helps keep me reaching further.
